The One Stop Job Shop service offers you information, advice and practical support on employment. This service is open to all ages post 16.
If you’re unsure of what you want to do next, you can speak to the team who can support you with all aspects of careers and employability, including:

Do you need help exploring career and progression options? Are you unsure of your next steps or long terms goals? Or do you just have no idea where to start, when looking for a future job or career? Whatever you need, our Careers & Welfare team can help. All of our advisors are highly qualified to help you find your perfect career and plan how to get there. They’ll be able to offer you Careers Education, Information, Advice and Guidance when you need it, whether you’re just starting out with us or you’re a past student. You’ll also find a whole host of useful information in our dedicated careers section, where you’ll be able to browse different career opportunities, find out the jobs that are most in-demand, and learn what qualifications you may need to get you there.
When you book in for an appointment with us, we’ll get to know your current position, talk about your future goals, and help you put a plan into place to get there. We’ll give you all the advice you need on finding and choosing your perfect career path, helping you to explore a range of different options. We’ll help you develop key skills that will make you more employable, give you advice on the right courses and qualifications to take, including those at higher, university-level, and give you advice on work experience and volunteering. Our Job Shop facility will bring part-time, work experience and voluntary opportunities directly to you, and you can join us for group sessions on skills such as CV writing and attending an interview.
Career coach Across our campuses, we have a dedicated Career Coach team who work closely with each department at the college and local employers. This helps us to ensure we’re offering the most current and relevant information on employability, careers and linked courses, and progression. The Career Coach team research and deliver tutorials on Labour Market Information and the future jobs market, making sure you are fully equipped to enter the workplace with the right skills and the ability to make informed choices. In addition, we host a number of events throughout the year to help you identify possible careers, including National Careers Week, employer fairs and job search events. Planning your future To help you plan for the future and make sure you’re on the right path for you, you’ll have access to a wide range of computer software programmes. For example, you’ll be able to use ‘Naric’ for international qualification comparisons, ‘MyworkSearch’ to you plan what courses you’ll need to take and make sure you’re prepared for employment, and ‘LinkedIn’ to help you network with important people in your industry.
